PARHAMS, La. —Funeral services for Kelly Gene Evans, 69, of Parhams, La., who died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Parhams Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Ganey officiating.

Burial will follow at Parhams Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Jonesville, the son of Kelly Willie Evans and Mildred Marie Evans.

He was a resident of Parhams, a member of Parhams Baptist Church and retired after 20 years with the United States Border Patrol.

He enjoyed picking up pecans, fishing and, above all, being with his kids and family.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years serving during the Vietnam War and serving his country in numerous countries.

He is preceded in death by his father and one son, Michael Evans.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kitty Evans of Parhams; his mother; daughter Kimberly Kay Pickering of McCall Creek; sons Russsell Clark and Kelly Evans Jr. and wife, Gina, all of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Willie Evans, Art Evans and Stan Evans and wife, Catherine, all of Parhams; sister Carol Whittington and husband, Lowell, of Smithdale; nine grandchildren, Natalie, Patrick, Jordon, Christopher, Jacob, Mia, Clark, Ashley and Evan and one great-grandson, Lennon Fancher.

Pallbearers will be Billy Smallwood, Ronnie Priest, Ronnie Pickering, Lucas McNeely, Heath McNeely, Kirby Corley and Lowell Whittington.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Mike Westbrook and Johnny Aylor.
