NATCHEZ — The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International recently announced Merit Health Natchez has been accredited for a period of three years for its Inpatient Rehabilitation program.
The latest accreditation is the fourth consecutive three-year accreditation the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Merit Health Natchez.
The accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer-review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
“Attaining and maintaining CARF-accredited status is an achievement we are extremely proud to share with our community, said Eric Robinson, chief executive officer of Merit Health Natchez. “It is a testament of the commitment, significant effort and strong teamwork, under the direction of Stephanie Rehms, rehab director, and Michelle Kaiser, director of therapy services.”
Rehms said the hospital is extremely proud of its inpatient rehabilitation services.
“Our CARF accreditation demonstrates to those we serve our commitment to reducing risk, addressing health and safety concerns and respecting cultural and individual preferences, as well as valuing the input of our patients and being accountable to our community,” she said.
