McCOMB — Services for Ruby E. “Aunt Ruby” Ballard, 84, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Crown Health and Rehab in Natchez, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Jones Family Funeral Services with Dr. David Millican officiating.

Burial will follow at Pike Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ballard was born April 19, 1931, in McComb, the daughter of Robert and Maude Blailock Chunn.

She loved the Lord and her family. She was always sharing her love for the Lord to everyone she met. She was such a good friend to everyone, a great listener, never judging anyone.

She enjoyed playing her piano, cooking, writing many beautiful poems, songs and paintings. She was talented in so many ways, but her love for the Lord and witnessing to others were her best talents.

She will be greatly missed, but it’s such a comfort to know she is at home with her Lord.

Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, James Ballard; six sisters, Christine Morgan, Dorothy Carr, Eva Sanders, Betty Moran, Alice Chunn and Eunice Chunn; and three brothers, Melvin Chunn, Choyce Chunn and Dennis Chunn.

Survivors include one son, Douglas Ballard and wife, Molly, of Natchez; two daughters, Gwen Carnette and husband, Byron, of Natchez and Debbie Gipson of Alexandria, La.; one sister, Betty Adams of Thomastown; seven grandchildren, Stacey Weed, Mitch Ballard, Leah Nunez, Angel Ponthiux, Jason Boyd, Jerrice Shavers and Kathy Setliff; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Stubbs and Ashley and also would like to thank the staff at Crown Health and Rehab for loving and taking such good care of their mother.

Pallbearers will be Byron Carnette, Mitch Ballard, Aubry Williamson, Phil Hewitt, Jimmy Chunn and Don Weed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, Blair Batson Children’s Hospital or to a charity of choice.
