NATCHEZ — A juvenile was taken to the Natchez Police Department after allegedly breaking into two cars at Merit Health Natchez.

NPD Detective Jerry Ford said the juvenile was first caught Sunday on security footage breaking into a vehicle to steal a cell phone.

Before police could identify the suspect’s vehicle from the security video footage, the juvenile returned Tuesday to steal a purse from another vehicle. An employee witnessed the act and took down the suspect’s tag number.

NPD officers contacted the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, who contacted the juvenile and their parents.

The juvenile will appear before Adams County Youth Court.
