NATCHEZ — Services for Claudia Mae “Mae Pop” Phipps Easton, 76, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church in Kingston with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.11_14 ClaudiaMPEaston obitpic

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Easton was born July 14, 1939, in Natchez, the daughter of Otis and Edna Christmas Phipps.

Mrs. Easton confessed Christ in 1974, under the leadership of the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. at Egypt Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack Easton Jr.; two sons, Dewayne Phipps and Gregory Phipps; three brothers, Louis McKinley, Otis James and Issac Phipps; and two sisters, Estelle Marsaw and Ida Pearl Montgomery.

Survivors include three devoted children, Brenda Smith and husband, Eddie, Larry Phipps and Cory Phipps and wife, Linda; 10 grandchildren; one grandson she raised as her own, Dwon Phipps; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Washington and husband, Eli, and Thelma Dixon; one brother, O.W. Phipps and wife, Lizzie; a devoted friend, Crescenda Chaptal; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
