STAMPLEY — Services for Gertrude Stampley Green, 78, of Fayette, who died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Covenent Health and Rehab of Vicksburg, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. Isaac Tenner Sr. officiating.11_13 GertrudeGreen obitpic

Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Green was born June 10, 1937, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Jessie and Mamie Stampley.

She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and served on the usher board. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Mount Valley No. 29.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Green Jr.; two brothers, Jessie Stampley and Herman Stampley; and one daughter-in-law, Clara Mae Green.

Survivors include five children, Al Curtis Green and wife, Yvonne, Bryant E. Green, Gwendolyn Green Brown and husband, Johnny, Karl B. Green and Marlin Green; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Mary L. Brown, Doris White, Alberta Thomas, Mamie Carr, Nellie M. Tenner, Ethel M. Rosell and Joyce E. Chambers; six sisters-in-law, Aretha Lucas, L.V. White, Thelma White, Georgian Green, Ruthie Stampley and Willie M. Stampley; two brothers-in-law, Isaac Tenner Sr. and Alfred Green; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
