NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Anthony “Tony” Joseph Lopez, 63, of Biloxi, and formerly a longtime resident of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, will be announced at a later date in Natchez by the family.
Mr. Lopez was born in Jackson, the first of six children to A.J. Lopez and Trinidad V. Gilbert.
Tony was a graduate of Natchez High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where, as a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, he made friends that lasted his lifetime. He is remembered as that person who never met a stranger and could make a friend at the drop of a hat. A person whose personality could make anyone laugh and with a heart who would help anyone who asked.
Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Frank Lopez; and one grandson, Andrew Joseph Lopez-Tynes.
Survivors include two daughters, Adrienne Lopez of New Orleans and Kelsey Cabana of Hattiesburg; two brothers, James Lopez of Carrollton, Texas, and John Lopez of Baton Rouge; his conscience and “little” sister, Trini Lopez of Biloxi; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Because of his love of children and being “Uncle Tony” to his great-nephew Roman Smith, in lieu of flowers or any remembrances for Tony, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
