Rains don’t dampen area good news

Despite a rainy weekend, the Miss-Lou shined brightly last week with multiple successes. Let’s take a moment to remember some good news from last week:
4The Ferriday High School Gymnasium welcomed students and faculty members for its grand reopening Monday. The new gym has several new amenities, such as an ice machine, bigger locker rooms and air conditioning instead of fans. We thank the school’s administration for making the gym’s update a priority, and look forward to cheering on student athletes in the new gym.
4Halloween has not come to the Miss-Lou yet, but some spooks and scares certainly appeared last week. Adams County Christian School hosted its annual Track-R-Treat Thursday. ACCS students and parents flooded the school’s parking lot, passing out candy and giving all in attendance a lighthearted fright. 4Concordia Parish hosted sheriff, police jury and other elections Saturday. We thank everyone who worked the polls, and all residents who came out to cast their votes. An informed and engaged electorate makes for a successful community. Congratulations to Kenneth Hedrick for his reelection as Concordia Parish sheriff and the five incumbents and two newly-elected police jurors. We encourage the Miss-Lou to continue its involvement with staying informed on the issues, and those who plan to move the community forward.
As we begin another busy week, we look forward to seeing what other great accomplishments the Miss-Lou has in store.
