Come join the Concordia Parish Library for a concert featuring songs from USO shows to Broadway shows from picture shows to television shows, with the talents of Naomi Cordill, Donna Edwards and Jon Baccarini.
Mark your calendars for 7 p.m. Thursday evening, at Concordia Bank lobby in Vidalia for a great music performance of “Let’s Go On With The Show.”
The public library diligently applies for funding from Louisiana Division of Arts to bring in professional musicians to enrich the lives of citizens of Concordia Parish and surrounding areas.
Some of the familiar songs performed this Thursday evening were made popular with the USO Tours.
The United Service Organization was created by President Franklin Roosevelt for the purpose of reaching out to our military service people.
This organization has performed for troops all over the world.
The USO Celebrity Entertainment shows are morale boosters and remain the best known of USO’s offerings.
Even in peace time, entertainers provide a much-needed break in the midst of duty tours overseas.
Also performed will be tunes from Broadway shows like “The Wizard of Oz,” “Mary Poppins,” and “My Fair Lady.”
These familiar favorites have all left significant marks on the music history of our culture. We all have our favorite television and commercial jingles that have influenced what music we listen to and sing along with.
All of these different show tunes will make for a fantastic evening.
So come join the Concordia Parish Library fun with “Let’s Go On With the Show” on Thursday, at the Concordia Bank lobby in Vidalia at 7 p.m. for the best show tunes around!
