NATCHEZ — A man was badly burned Tuesday following an equipment fire in Adams County.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene of a fire in a pasture on U.S. 61 South near Sibley at approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday, an ACSO spokesperson said in a written release.

One of the two men deputies met at the scene told them the hay baler the men had been working with had caught fire, and one of them was badly burned when he tried to retrieve a bale of hay from the fire.

The burn victim was transported to Merit Health Natchez.
