FERRIDAY — Two Concordia Parish inmates apparently escaped from a correctional center Monday and were still on the run Tuesday evening.

Christopher Higginbotham, 22, and Michael Wayne Parker, 22, were first noticed missing from the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility at approximately 9 p.m. Monday, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Vernon Stevens said.

CPCF Warden’s Assistant Sheila Spinner said as of Tuesday afternoon prison officials had not been able to determine how the two inmates left the facility.

Stevens said the crimes for which the men were jailed were not violent in nature.

Higginbotham had been jailed for aggravated burglary, while Parker was being held for felony theft.

Family members and other points of contact in the area for the two inmates have been interviewed, Stevens said, and other law enforcement agencies around the state have been alerted by bulletin.

Higginbotham, of Ferriday, is a white male, approximately 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing 153 pounds. He has short brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo inside his left arm that says, “Tiffany.”

Parker, of Jonesville, is a white male, approximately 5-feet-10 inches and weighing 220 pounds. He has short red hair and blue eyes.
