NATCHEZ — An Adams County man is behind bars after he allegedly found out that having money to burn isn’t always a good thing.
Natchez-Adams County Metro Narcotics Agents conducted an undercover drug buy from Glen Dale Henderson, 36, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday, Adams County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Courtney Taylor said.
When agents tried to initiate a traffic stop following the alleged exchange of drugs and money between Henderson and an undercover agent, Henderson reportedly refused to stop.
While he continued to travel down the road, Henderson allegedly tried to burn the money agents used to buy the drugs from him, Taylor said.
After agents were able to stop Henderson, they found the partially burned money, as well as additional drugs under the floorboard of his truck, Taylor said.
Henderson was booked on charges of destroying state evidence, illegal possession of controlled substances (methamphetamine), sale or transfer of controlled substances (methamphetamine) and suspended driver’s license. He was detained on a $10,000 bond.
