MONROE, La. — The long, arduous first season of varsity football for the Delta Charter Storm continued Friday night as it fell to the St. Frederick Warriors 41-6 in an LHSAA District 2-1A game.
No other information on the game was available.
“We didn’t have a good game. I thought we were prepared for this game,” Delta Charter head coach Jarrett Hoffpauir said. “We’ve got to get better. We didn’t play good on special teams. Defense didn’t play well. We made a lot of mistakes on offense and defense.
“You can’t do that against a team like St. Frederick. They don’t make a lot of mistakes.”
Delta Charter fell behind early in the game surrendering 14 first quarter points. The Storm held St. Frederick to just three points in the second quarter, but were unable to contain the Warriors the rest of the way.
St. Frederick racked up 17 third quarter points to put the game out of reach for the Storm.
Delta Charter’s lone score of the game came in the final quarter of play on a seven-yard pass from Trey Poole to Dawson Woodruff.
Poole finished the game 11-of-27 for 70 yards with that touchdown and two interceptions.
Freddie Mango was the leading rusher for the Storm gaining 31 yards on nine carries.
Lee Lancaster was the team’s leading receiver with six catches for 29 yards.
Delta Charter (1-4, 0-2) plays host to Tensas High School next Friday with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
