Woman’s purse snatched

NATCHEZ — Police are searching for a man who reportedly snatched a woman’s purse as she was leaving a downtown business Friday evening.
Natchez Police Chief Danny White said the woman was leaving National Furniture Company at the corner of North Commerce and Franklin streets when the suspect grabbed her purse shortly before 6 p.m..
The woman chased the man, who ran up Franklin Street and was last seen on Locust Alley, the alley behind Breaud’s restaurant, White said.
The woman was not injured, White said, and reported that her purse contained $500 and a .38 Special Smith & Wesson revolver. Anyone with information about the purse-snatching should contact Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
