FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man is behind bars after nearly a year of eluding an attempted murder charge.
Ferriday police arrested David N. Green, 26, 820 Maryland Ave., Tuesday on charges of three counts attempted second-degree murder.
Interim Police Chief Margaret Lawrence said the arrest stems from an incident nearly a year ago, when Green allegedly fired a gun into a residence on Fifth Street.
Three people were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, and one of the people sustained minor injuries, Lawrence said.
Police do not know the motivation of the shooting, she said.
The chief said the police were able to capture Green Tuesday after receiving a tip he was back in town and a description of his vehicle.
After spotting the vehicle, officers were able to take Green into custody without incident, Lawrence said.
He was detained without bond in the Concordia Parish jail Tuesday afternoon.
