Pilgrimage highlights good news

The area’s biggest tourism season is under way and we are only a few weeks away from the beautiful azaleas that come with it each year.

As house owners and performers in the variety of Pilgrimage shows work to balance their tourism responsibilities with regular life we are reminded just how special our community is.

Few other towns come together like Natchez does to put on such an annual production.

As we smile and wave to tourists, let’s review a few other things from last week that just made us grin.

• The City of Vidalia is organizing an Easter celebration on the riverfront. The event provides yet another chance for community members to come together for fun, food and the holiday.

• Kaitlan Melton is juggling life with ease at Adams County Christian School. The top student, star athlete and friendly high school senior knows how to work hard, and we know she has a bright future ahead of her.

• The Natchez Art Association honored several area students Saturday for their artwork. Seeing this group of local artists reach out to cultivate art in our schools is refreshing and reminds us that Natchez will be an arts community for years to come.

As you enjoy that extra hour of daylight — and adjust to the loss of sleep — we hope you’ll get outside and pause to appreciate the Miss-Lou.
