VICKSBURG — The rough 2015 season for the Trinity Episcopal Lady Saints continued Tuesday afternoon as they were shut out by the Porter’s Chapel Academy Lady Eagles 10-0 in five innings in an MAIS District 5-AA game.
Porter’s Chapel put the pressure on Trinity right from the get go, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Saints did better on the mound and defensively over the next four innings, but their bats were ice cold.
The Lady Eagles scored one run in the bottom of the third inning and ended the game early with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Meanwhile, the Lady Saints managed just three hits. Tali Beard, Hannah Fitt and Alli Smith each had a single.
It doesn’t get any easier for Trinity Episcopal (0-12-1, 0-5) as it plays host to Franklin Academy, the district front-runner and the third-ranked team in Class AA, today at 6:30 p.m. at the Concordia Recreation District 3 Complex.
