MSU ACTIVE SHOOTER UPDATE: Suspect did not have gun, made threats

UPDATE: Mississippi State’s student newspaper is reporting no gun was present during the active shooter situation on campus this morning.
The Reflector tweeted at approximately 12:20 p.m. that President Mark E. Keenum confirmed the suspect — freshman Bill Nguyen of Madison — threatened suicide and to harm students on campus.
UPDATE: Mississippi State has issued an all-clear, and classes will resume at 2 p.m.
UPDATE: A reported active shooter on Mississippi State’s campus has been apprehended, and MSU has not reported any injuries at this time. There is no report at this time of any shots being fired. The university asks those on campus to remain in shelter.
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State is on lockdown following the report of an active shooter on campus.
A tweet from the Mississippi State Student Association says the shooter was last seen in the vicinity of Lee Hall and urges students to seek safety immediately.
