NATCHEZ — Lindsey Shelton has joined The Natchez Democrat as assistant news editor.

A native of Altoona, Ala., Shelton graduated from the University of Alabama in 2011 with a degree in journalism.

Shelton previously worked at The Democrat as the city reporter and most recently worked as a park guide for the National Park Service and director of marketing for Natchez Pilgrimage Tours.

Shelton is chairwoman of the Green Alliance, a board member for the Natchez-Adams County Community Alliance, Miss-Lou Crime Stoppers and a member of the 2015 Leadership Natchez class.
