VIDALIA — A former Vidalia man resident was arrested earlier this month on child pornography charges in West Monroe, La.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office charged James W. Ainsworth, 40, of West Monroe with two counts of production of pornography involving juveniles and 10 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.

The arrest was a result of an investigation involving the FBI, OPSO Special Victims Unit, West Monroe Police Department and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

CPSO spokesman Vernon Stevens said CPSO arrested Ainsworth on a similar charge in August 2005. Stevens said he was unsure of the outcome of that case.

If convicted of the West Monroe charges, Ainsworth faces up to 120 years in prison.
