NATCHEZ — Natchez Police were called Tuesday afternoon to an alleged kidnapping and found the victim and the suspect within hours.
NPD Lt. Craig Godbold said the female victim was taken against her will while working at the Walgreens on U.S. 61 South.
The suspect, Godbold said, knew the victim and allegedly forced her into his vehicle.
“He then hit another vehicle while driving out of the parking lot,” Godbold said.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. Monday, Godbold said law enforcement officers were able to locate the pair at a nearby hotel.
“Right now, we don’t know what the charges will be and we can’t release any names,” Godbold said at approximately 8 p.m.
Godbold said the NPD, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office were working the case.
“The suspect knew the victim,” he said. “We expect to make an arrest soon.”
