NATCHEZ — Services for Henry Lee Smith Jr., 61, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 5:45 p.m., with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Smith was born Dec. 26, 1953, the son of Henry Lee Smith Sr. and Thelma Williams Smith.

He received his bachelor of science degree in technical education from Alcorn State University and was a self-employed construction engineer.

Henry Lee was retired.

Mr. Smith was a Baptist, having been baptized from Shiloh Baptist Church.

He enjoyed social interactions with family, friends, cooking and baseball.

Henry Lee was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glen Smith; and one sister, Jacqueline Rose Smith West.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Hughes Smith; one daughter, Danielle Cherie Smith; one brother, Raythell Smith Sr. and wife, Edrena; one sister, Ira Smith Young and husband, André; three brothers-in-law, Elbert Hughes Jr., Larry Hughes and wife, Linda, and Lee Wong Hughes and wife, Janice; and one goddaughter, Jacqueline B. Smith.
