Natchez folks wined and dined

With July drawing to a close this week, the Miss-Lou has several accomplishments to tack on to its long list of accolades. Lets take a moment to call them out:
-Hundreds were wined and dined Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the annual Natchez Food and Wine Festival. Gourmet food originating from New Orleans all the way up to Jackson allowed local and regional chefs to shine. We thank all organizers for hosting another successful festival.
-Natchez welcomed new Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Glenn McCullough last week. McCullough spoke with locals at The Vue Hotel, sharing his vision for the MDA. We thank McCullough for visiting the Miss-Lou, and local leaders who work with the MDA daily to make the Miss-Lou better.
-Hard work paid off for Concordia Parish students as it was announced last week that ACT scores rose by 10 percent for the 2014-2015 school year. An impressive 69 percent of students scored an 18 or higher on the test, and we know diligent school administrators and parents who led and inspired those students are to thank for that increase.
As we plunge into another busy week ahead, let’s build on the momentum established last week and keep the Miss-Lou on the move to bigger, better heights.
