RIDGECREST — Funeral services for Coney Burriel Bryan, 91, of Ridgecrest, who died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Merit Health Natchez, were held at Pentecostals of The Miss-Lou on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Gary Howington, Bro. Jeremy Howington and Bro. James Johnson officiating.

Internment followed at Dewey Cemetery, Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family received friends at Pentecostals of The Miss-Lou from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015.

Coney Bryan was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1924 in Acme, La., to Adolph Bryan and Julia Runnels Bryan. He was a resident of Ridgecrest and a member of Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou. Coney was an avid fisherman and hunter throughout his lifetime. He retired from International Paper after 37 years of service and became a full time pleasure fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Bryan proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Annie Laura Bryan; three brothers, Julius Bryan, Calvin Bryan and Leslie Bryan; seven sisters, his twin sister Mattie Murriel Barrett, Verna Lee Smith, Gertie Beaubouef, Vertie Beaubouef, Lillian Terrell, Maudel Flaherty and Estelle Bryan.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Miles Bryan of Ridgecrest; his sons, Caroyl Bryan and wife, Marlyn, of Boyce, La., Gene Bryan and wife, Violet, of Eugene, Ore., Darrell Bryan and wife, Phyllis, of Aimwell, La., and Doyle Bryan and wife, Bertha, of Vidalia; his daughters, Sherrie Brister and husband, Dan, of Vidalia, and Diane Kerrigan and husband, Joey, of Natchez; his step-son Tony Harper and wife, Stephanie, of Monterey; his step-daughters, Donna Stringer of Vidalia, Jean Stringer of Vidalia and Alaine Brunson and husband, Delloyd, of Dry Prong, La.; and his sister Sadie Lipsey of Monterey. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chase Bryan, Tristan Weatherly, Jeremy Mcelwee, Cameron Boyette, Tyler Sandifer, Tony Harper and Everette Harper.

Honorary pallbearers will be James “Skinny” Green, Jerry Lipsey, Lanny Lipsey and Ricky Bryan.
