NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Phyllis Stecher, of Vidalia, who died Friday, July 17, 2015, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at the Natchez National Cemetery with Bryant Reed Jr. officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stecher was born Jan. 8, 1948, and lived in Queens, N.Y., where she taught Sunday school at Queens New York Methodist Church. She was an active member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted and taught Sunday school there, also.

She was a graduate of P.S. 106 High School and attended Columbia University. She worked as a therapist and counselor.

Mrs. Stecher was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her father, Phillip Bonanno.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Faggione of Natchez; one cousin, Dianne Robito; two nieces, Kathy Keller and Florence Orbeski, all of Long Island, N.Y.; and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of Mrs. Stecher’s Sunday school class at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
