NATCHEZ — Services for Mildred L. Ward Gooden, 77, who died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenberg officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Gooden was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Woodville, the daughter of Eddie Ward Sr. and Rosa Scharlender Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gooden; her parents; and one brother, Eddie Ward Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Roosevelt Gooden of Natchez and Isaac Gooden of Zachary, La.; two daughters, Collie Sullivan of Natchez and Vickie Gooden of Vidalia; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Holiday and husband, Felton, of Baton Rouge, Bessie Mae Dennis of Woodville and Beulah Brown and husband, Jerry, of San Francisco; two brothers, Dan Henry Ward and Robert L. Ward and wife, Nell, all of Woodville; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
