NATCHEZ — On Monday, the Mississippi Department of Transportation will close lanes of traffic on the eastbound Mississippi River bridge between Natchez and Vidalia. The lane closures will allow MDOT crews to set up concrete barriers for two-way traffic on the bridge.
Beginning July 13, the westbound bridge will be closed for seven weeks in order to make repairs on the bridge. At that time all westbound traffic will be diverted to one lane of the south bridge.
MDOT officials say no wide loads over 14 feet will be allowed on the eastbound side during the westbound closure.
