NATCHEZ — Services for Margurine Stewart McCullum Pickett, 96, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Pickett was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Washington, the daughter of James S. and Anna Stewart.
She attended Natchez county schools.
She was a retired cook for Natchez-Adams schools. She attended St. Paul Baptist Church and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church choir.
Mrs. Pickett enjoyed cooking, antique collecting, singing and making people smile.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Pickett; her parents; one son, David McCullum; one brother, Mannie Stewart; and one sister, Augustine S. Pickett.
Survivors include one son, Ernest Pickett of Vidalia; one daughter-in-law, Ethel V. McCullum of Natchez; four granddaughters, Marilyn M. Brumfield of Jackson, Cassandra P. Allen of Houston, Michelle Singleton of Natchez and Tonya Powell of Detriot; eight great-grandchildren, Shalanda M. White of Natchez, Adrena Brumfield of Jackson, Zientrelle Harris of Natchez, Emari Pickett, Samone Allen and Cameron Allen, all of Houston, and Laami and Jimall Powell II of Detroit; two great-greatgrandsons, Malachi M. White of Natchez and Micah A. Fields of Jackson; a special friend, Marie Jenkins; a special niece, Delores Pickett of Chicago; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
