Miss-Lou full of good news last week

Last week, the Miss-Lou was bustling with good news. Let’s take a moment to call out the highlights:
•School may be out for summer, but learning is still in full swing. Natchez High School currently is offering summer classes for students who wish to make up credits, finish credits or simply get ahead in their studies. It is important students stay on track with their education, and we commend Natchez High for affording them that opportunity.
•While some students studied quietly in the classroom, others got to work painting benches and installing electrical wire at Memorial Park. The city’s Urban Youth Corps program currently employs five young men who opted to earn some money and learn about city infrastructure this summer. We thank the city’s Public Works department for providing this great opportunity for these individuals, who will undoubtedly achieve great things in their future.
•Football season is inching closer, and the Ferriday Trojans are ready to take the field under the guidance of new head coach Dwight Woods. Ferriday High School welcomed Woods, who previously coached at General Trass, last week. We can’t wait to see what new heights Woods will take Ferriday’s football program to.
As we move ahead into another busy week, we thank everyone who continuously makes the Miss-Lou such a great place to live, work and grow.
