NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Marbeth Ann Schon-Tilden, 67, who died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Jefferson Street Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Marbeth was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Fosston, Minn., the daughter of Walter and Doris Schon.

She was a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., with a bachelor of arts degree and later received a masters of arts from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.

An internationally acclaimed authority on Modernist American jewelry, Marbeth owned a gallery in Bay St. Louis and Natchez. She was the author of two books entitled, “Modernist Jewelry 1930-1960: The Wearable Art Movement” and “Form and Function: American Modernist Jewelry 1940-1970,” along with numerous articles on the history of jewelry.

Marbeth was a skilled photographer; many of her photographs are included as illustrations in her books.

Marbeth was also an accomplished singer and musician, playing piano, trumpet, and guitar. She taught private piano lessons throughout her life and was active in community theater in Bay St. Louis. Marbeth was a driving force behind the Second Saturday art walk in Natchez, a member of the Natchez Downtown Development Association and the Natchez Chamber of Commerce.

She was also a member of Jefferson Street Methodist Church and sang in the choir.

Marbeth was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Byron Schon.

Marbeth lived a full life and impacted numerous lives with her caring, accepting spirit and love. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Marbeth is survived by her husband, Andrew Tilden; two sons, Eric and Kaare Erickson; two stepchildren, Jason Tilden and Lori Erickson; and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Rebekkah, Mikaela, Deborah, Ezra, Koen and Lilly.
