Time to party with sunflowers

It’s summertime, my favorite time of year. Summer makes me think of big, yellow sunflowers, picnics and fun at the lake. It’s also a perfect time to celebrate the near completion of our new shelter.
A Sunflower Fundraiser party for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society will be held at Cane and Susan Callon’s beautiful new lake house on Saturday, June 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Lake St. John.
Their house is located at 5565 Hwy 568 in Ferriday, 2.4 miles past the Duck’s Nest Restaurant on the right. Just look for the bouquets of sunflowers on the gate.
A $25 donation, per person, can be paid at the door. All proceeds will benefit the homeless pets at the shelter on Liberty Road in Natchez.
Everyone coming to the party can look forward to summer food favorites such as southern fried chicken, fresh butterbeans, and delicious homegrown tomatoes. Cajun Cookin’s Paul Melancon will be providing his tasty dirty rice, baked beans and garlic bread. As always, there will also be plenty of delicious appetizers and desserts lovingly made and donated by our precious humane society supporters.
Please join us for a fabulous evening of food, fun, socializing and raising money to benefit the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
Remember, you can always visit our website at natchezpetadoptions.org to see pictures of current, adoptable pets or come see us at 392 Liberty Road. By donating money to our homeless animals you help us to cover immediate expenses while ultimately enabling us to save more animals’ lives. To make a donation, send a check or money order to P.O. Box 549, Natchez, MS 39121-0549.
Our animals are always in need of basic supplies like food, toys, blankets, and cleaning supplies. For a complete list of all “wish list” items, please visit our website under the “Help” section. Summer is our busiest time of year, which means we have a large number of sweet animals at the shelter looking for their forever home. You can help us save lives by adopting and giving a loving animal another chance at life. Please feel free to contact Susan Callon by email at suscallon@yahoo.com or by phone 601-660-5268 if you need additional information or have any questions about the party or adoptions.
