Police: Local church broken in to

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department is investigating an break-in at First Lutheran Church, 70 Seargent S. Prentiss Drive.
Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said the department received a report at 8:23 a.m. Wednesday about the incident.
Ford said the church’s front door was kicked in, and several items were “turned upside down.”
“Someone just kicked in the door and went in there and went through some of the stuff, threw some drawers,” Ford said. “Basically, they just turned a few things over.”
No money was stolen and no one was injured in the incident.
Ford said police have no suspects tied to the incident.
“It’s hard to say what they were looking for,” Ford said. “To my knowledge, this is the first time something like this has happened there.”
