NATCHEZ — Services for Ada Maxine Walding Stricklin, 89, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the home of her son, Anderson Stricklin, in New Port Richey, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. at the Fellowship Methodist Church Cemetery in Hineston, La.

Visitation will be at 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and at 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stricklin was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Hot Wells, La., the daughter of Jesse Carlton Walding and Ada Walding.

She lived most of her life in Alexandria, La., Ferriday and the Natchez areas. She was owner of the Red Top Seafood in Ferriday for a number of years and was last employed at the Natchez Community Hospital. One of her greatest joys was playing the piano with her longtime friend, the late Ms. Audrey Laird. She also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and dominoes and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Stricklin was preceded in death b y her parents; her husband, Raymond Stricklin; four siblings, Carnel, Claudys, Leonard and Mark; one son, Duane Stricklin; one grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Survivors include four children, Frank Stricklin and wife, Patricia, of Silverdale, Wash., Michael Stricklin of Natchez, Anderson Stricklin of New Port Richey and Mollie Stricklin Cornwell and husband, Larry, of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Stricklin; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and God has a very special angel with Him now and she will be deeply missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Fellowship Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 91, Hineston, LA 71438.
