Murder suspect turns himself in

NATCHEZ — A suspected killer sought by Natchez Police turned himself in to police Tuesday.
Casey S. Woods, 42, 125 Gaylor Road, was booked Tuesday into the Natchez City Jail for the murder of Pierre Tenner.
Police had been searching for Woods since Sunday evening after he allegedly shot and killed Tenner on Hampton Court.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said Woods turned himself in to police at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The shooting, which occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday, was believed to be caused by a domestic dispute involving Tenner’s estranged wife.
After the dispute, Woods retrieved a shotgun, which he used to shoot Tenner, Ford said.Tenner, 42, was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Merit Health Natchez after suffering a gunshot wound to the upper right hip.
Ford said criminal activity is rare in the Hampton Court area.
“It’s unusual for something like this to happen there,” said Ford, adding that Woods has a criminal record including simple robbery.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Woods was held Tuesday afternoon at the Natchez City Jail with no bond set.
