NATCHEZ — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading the arrest and conviction of a man who allegedly robbed Regions Bank’s downtown branch last week.

An unknown male suspect is being sought in connection with more than 10 bank robberies that have occurred in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico and Mississippi since March, according to an FBI press release. The suspect has been dubbed the “Bayou Bandit,” and he typically enters the bank and presents a note to the teller demanding money.

The suspect has worn a baseball hat, dark sunglasses and a dark-colored shirt. In the Natchez robbery, the suspect wore a light blue T-shirt, khaki shorts, tennis shoes and white baseball cap bearing the letter “F,” possibly the Florida Gators team logo, according to a previous report.

According to witnesses, the suspect did not appear to be armed, but the FBI considers the suspect to be armed and dangerous. No injuries were reported in the Natchez robbery.
