VIDALIA — Services for the Archie Hagan, 77, of Vidalia, who died Friday, May 1, 2015, at his residence following a long illness, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Baptist Church in Vidalia with Wendell Greene Sr. and the Rev. Johnny Ellery officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Hagan was born on July 19, 1937, the son of Joe and Maggie Brown Hagan.
Hagan was a retired teacher from the Concordia Parish School system where he taught for more than 29 years. Hagan graduated from Concordia Parish Training School in 1955 and Southern University in 1965. Hagan served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 and was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe Hagan Jr., Leonard Hagan and Ernest Hagan; one sister, Irma Hagan Allen; niece, Ernestine Hagan Primas; and nephew, Jonathon Allen.
Survivors include one sister, Mathiel Hagan Tucker of Yuba City, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Jennie T. Hagan; devoted cousin, Leonard Brown; devoted friend and neighbor, Leatrice Dickens, all of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and other relatives.
