VIDALIA — A Vidalia man was arrested on a warrant for assault by drive by shooting last week.
Quandarious D. Riley, 24, 467 Concordia Park Drive, was arrested by Vidalia police officers on charges of aggravated assault by drive-by shooting, terrorizing and illegal carrying of weapons.
The complainants told investigators that a group of people was standing on the corner of John Dale Drive and South Oak Street when two cars pulled up. The occupants exited the vehicles making threats when one pulled a handgun and began to fire shots into a crowd.
Upon further investigation, officers located shell casings in the street and bullet holes in a storage shed by a residence in the area, Clifton said.
Witnesses gave a description of the two vehicles that were in the area at the time.
Investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Riley after interviewing witnesses in the area.
Officers observed Riley in Vidalia last week and served the arrest warrants. When Riley was arrested, officers located a handgun in his possession.
Clifton said Vidalia Police Chief Arthur Lewis would like to thank the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in working the case.
Riley was booked into the Concordia Parish Sheriff Office jail Friday with a bond of $20,000.
Riley was released on bond the following day.
