Qualifying for FarGolf fundraiser begins Oct. 21

VIDALIA — Qualifying for the FarGolf, Inc., “Million $ Hole-In-One Semi-Finals Shootout” begins from 4 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 21 and will continue at the same time each day through Oct. 29.
All contestants must fill out a registration form which will include date, name, telephone number, verification of amateur status, statement of understanding of event rules and prizes and signature.
Money raised through the event will benefit The Sunshine Shelter and FarGolf Charities. Registration forms are available at the event location FarGolf, Inc., driving range, 250 Logan Sewell Drive (Louisiana 3180) in Vidalia.
To qualify for the semi-finals shootout, contestants must hit a driving range golf ball and have it remain within a 5-foot circle from a distance of 118-120 yards.
Qualifying shots will cost $1 each. Each day, contestants may purchase as many qualifying shots as they need to qualify. Each contestant may qualify for a maximum of three shots for the semi-finals shootout.
Tees may be used for all shots in all events. If the ball comes to rest touching the line it will be considered within the foot circle. All qualifying shots must be witnessed, verified and recorded by event personnel.
Distances from the hole will be measured by designated event personnel only. Golfers will not be allowed on the range to witness any measurements at any time. Golfers may use binoculars and rangefinders during all phases of this event.
Semi-Finals Shootout will begin at 5:30 pm on Sat., Oct. 30. All semi-finals shootout contestants will use new driving range golf balls to make their shots. The distance of the qualifying hole will be 118-120 yards. The five contestants closest to the hole will qualify for a shot at the $1 million prize.
Player names will be called in the order in which each one qualified. Each player must be ready to make his/her shot(s) within three minutes of their name being called or be disqualified from the shootout. If two or more players are tied for the last spot, each player tied will be awarded one shot and the player closest to the hole will win the final spot.
Immediately following the completion of the semi-finals shootout, all five winners will be awarded one shot to make a hole-in-one from a distance of 165 yards. No practice shots or mulligans are allowed.
