NATCHEZ — The Road Dawgs 2015 Tour will be hitting the Miss-Lou on May 12, and highlighting the event will be none other than Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen.
Joining Mullen in his travels to Natchez will be head men’s basketball coach Ben Howland, head women’s basketball coach Vic Shaefer and director of athletics Scott Stricklin.
“I’m so excited I just can’t stand it,” Natchez alumni president Lou Ann Jordan said.
Mullen will speak at the Hotel Vue and Restaurant starting at 11 a.m. The event will be a two-hour function, and this will mark the first time in five years the Road Dawg Tour has made its way back to Natchez. Jordan said that is both a result of a rotation and because the Mississippi State alumni in Natchez have been busy as of late.
“Two or three years ago, our group kind of died,” said Jordan, who took over as president in 2014. “But the last couple of years we’ve really put it back together, and we’ve gotten a lot of younger people in town to join. It was easy for us to get active again, and we won the (outstanding chapter) award, which put us back on the map.”
The event will cost $20 and lunch will be served. For those interested in attending, contact Jordan at 601-870-1011 with name and number of attendees wishing to participate.
