NATCHEZ — Area businessmen Stephen Guido and Peter Rinaldi were recently appointed to the St. Catherine Creek Utility Authority.
Board of Supervisors president Darryl Grennell nominated Guido and District 2 Supervisor Henry Watts nominated Rinaldi.
Authority Chairman Woody Allen said he is pleased to have the positions filled because they have been vacant for a while.
Guido and Rinaldi will fill the spots of former members Ken Herring and James West to complete the five-person board, Allen said.
District 1 Supervisor Mike Lazarus said Guido’s construction background made him a strong candidate for the position.
Watts said he nominated Miss-Lou Magazine operator Rinaldi due to his courage, conviction and his familiarity with government and economic development.
Allen said the roles of the commission members include overseeing the landfill formerly occupied by International Paper Company, which is the prospective site of Rentech, Inc.
