NATCHEZ — A Natchez teenager was arrested Thursday in connection with two armed robberies last month.
Randerick Patterson, 18, 1006 Lotus Drive, was arrested on charges of two counts of armed robbery, Natchez Police Lt. Craig Godbold said.
Patterson, a senior at Natchez High School, was escorted from the school to the Natchez Police Department, where he was questioned, arrested, booked and processed.
Patterson allegedly robbed the B&L Tobacco Outlet at 33 Seargent S. Prentiss Drive Aug. 20. The suspect had a .38 revolver, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Godbold said the suspect discarded his revolver near the tobacco outlet, and police investigators later recovered the weapon.
Patterson also allegedly robbed the Exxon gas station at 138 N. Shields Lane Aug. 28. A black female accompanied the suspect during the robbery, and police are now searching for her, Godbold said. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A second .38 caliber revolver was used in the Exxon robbery, and police recovered an identical weapon at Patterson’s house.
“We were able to gather information on the two robberies, and we found (Patterson) fit witnesses’ descriptions,” Godbold said.
Patterson is being held at the Natchez City Jail without bond until arraignment.
Godbold said he expects to make an additional arrest in the case.
