Time to relax with Chamber friends

Your Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce has been working in overdrive lately to fulfill its mission statement of providing an independent, representative voice for business and creating a positive business environment.

On April 10, we are going to take a break for some much needed rest and relaxation. We hope you will join us for some fun at Duncan Park with our 22nd Annual Chamber Golf and Tennis Tournament.

This entertaining, yet slightly competitive event has been taking place every spring and gives Chamber members and other interested participants a chance to network and enjoy each other’s company outside the business arena.

The four-person scramble format allows golfers of all skill levels to get out and have some fun.  You will also have the opportunity to win a 2015 Chevy Equinox or a 2015 Chevy Colorado generously donated by Great River Chevrolet. A trophy is given to the team to keep for a year. Last year’s winner was Dr. Anderson’s group. We also have a great traditional doubles tennis tournament for tennis enthusiasts.

We are pleased to bring you many opportunities to get involved with this event. You may sign up as an individual, or get a whole team together. You can promote your business through one of several different sponsorship levels. Or you can simply attend the Chamber Business After-Hours scheduled to take place at 5:30 pm at the Tennis Courts. Music will be provided by First Natchez Radio Group, and Natchez Pathology and Wesley Steckler from State Farm will be on site cooking their traditional roasted pig.

A Helicopter Golf Ball Drop will take place at 6 p.m. For a chance at winning half of the pot, you may purchase a golf ball drop ticket for $20 or six tickets for $100. Each ball is numbered and the one that goes in or closest to the hole is the lucky winner. Call the Natchez Chamber at 601-445-4611 or stop by to purchase your tickets.

The day’s activities will begin with registration at 11 a.m. for tennis and for golfers, lunch at 11:30 a.m. and play for tennis will begin at 11:30, golfers will start at 1 p.m. Rolling River Roasters and Natchez Specialties has been busy lining up a great lunch to start off the day’s events, and of course, the After Hours will provide more great food after a hard day of golf and tennis.

You can sign up by calling 601 445-4611, or by emailing Natchezchamber@natchezchamber.com  or drop by the Chamber office at 211 Main St. We look forward to a great day of fun and fellowship.

As always, your support of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce is appreciated.

Stuart Heflin is chairman of the Chamber’s 2015 Golf and Tennis Tournament.
