NATCHEZ — Services for Rayford N. Smith, 88, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morgantown Baptist Church with Dr. E. L. Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 16, 1926, in McCall Creek, the son of Sam S. Smith and Joanna Jenkins Smith.

He was a member and deacon of Morgantown Baptist Church. He was also a member of Gideon International.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; four brothers; two daughters, Cindy Eubanks and Sonja Spillers; and his first wife, Billie Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Greer Smith; one grandson, Luke Spillers and wife, Sara Beth, of Natchez; one granddaughter, Brooke Spillers Crum and husband, Ryan, of Vidalia; four great-grandchildren, Aidan Rayford Spillers, John-Riley Spillers, Lily Crum and Sasha Crum; one brother, Rodger Smith and wife, Annie Marie, of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jim Williams, Herman Eldridge, Luke Spillers, Ryan Crum, Danny Smith and Rodger Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Stearn, Bob Gavin and members of his Sunday school class at Morgantown Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Morgantown Baptist Church or Gideon International.
