NATCHEZ — Services for Margaret Burnett Douglas, 87, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 20, 2015, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.3:29 Margaret  obitpic

Visitation will be at 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Douglas was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Bogalusa, La., the daughter of Tildo Burnett and Lornea Fair Burnett.

She was educated in the Bogalusa school system.

Margaret was a retired manufacturing supervisor in Chicago. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church in Selma. She enjoyed cooking, reading, solving puzzles and fishing.

Ms. Douglas was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Samuel Douglas.

Survivors include four stepsons, Roosevelt Douglas of Chicago, Mark Douglas of Houston, Michael Douglas and MacArthur Douglas, both of Natchez; one stepdaughter, Marsha Douglas Gordon and husband, Tyrone, of DeSoto, Texas; one brother, David London of St. Paul, Minn.; one sister, Christine Cotterell and husband, Robert, of Flora; two goddaughters, Amanda Allred of New Orleans and Amanda Rachel of Utah; and other relatives and friends.
