OLDENBURG — Services for Carl Ray Lehmann, 91, who died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greendale United Methodist Church in Oldenburg with the Rev. Randy Youngblood and Mr. Jimmy Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Visitation will be at 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Lehmann was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Oldenburg, the son of Herbert Lehmann and Sammie Osborne Lehmann.
He was a kind and compassionate man with a deep love for his family and friends. He was never too busy to give of his time to anyone in need.
Mr. Lehmann dedicated his life for 38 years as a Franklin County supervisor with a number of years as “president of the board.” He was retired.
Mr. Lehmann was known for his hard work, integrity, honesty and respectful treatment of all people. He touched the lives of countless people, young and old, during his many years of public service. He was known as a gentle and loving man who greeted all people with a kind smile, a warm handshake and treated everyone he met with dignity and respect.
Mr. Lehmann was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sherry Peeples; one sister, Mary Ann Wilson; one grandchild, Jamie Webb; and one great-grandchild, Maxie Webb.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mary (Sister) Elizabeth Lehmann; one son, Len Lehmann and wife, Angie, of Oldenburg; two daughters, Beverly Hall and husband, Malcolm, of Natchez and Carla Lehmann McLemore of Meadville; one sister, Rose Sidick of Huntsville, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Yancy Lehmann, Austin Weeks, Casey Novak, Justin Martin, Max Knapp, Darron Webb, Richard Freeman and David Aldridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Oglesby, Jimmy Brown, Jimmy Jones, Ike Hall, Caleb Lehmann, Gary Lehmann and Danny Daniels.
A very special thank you to Dr. Yarbrough and the staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital for their many hours of dedicated and faithful service.
