Thanks to the Natchez Lady Bulldogs’ huge success in Jackson Friday night, the Miss-Lou is charging into spring with a winning approach.

The Lady Bulldogs brought home to Natchez its second consecutive championship Friday in dramatic fashion. The Lady Bulldogs trailed by at least 10 points twice in the game only to fight back to victory.

The team’s steadfast determination and winning spirit is a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work and teamwork.

Lady Bulldogs, you made all of Natchez proud. Congratulations for a job well done.

Also, members of the Natchez Tricentennial Commission debuted its goals for a yearlong birthday party here in 2016.

Jennifer Ogden Combs, executive director of the commission, said the 2016 calendar year— the year Natchez celebrates its 300th birthday — is already filling up with events. From exploring our rich history to celebrating our vibrant future, the main focus of next year’s celebration focuses on community — one of Natchez’s strongest assets.

We encourage residents to engage with Tricentennial planning, as it’s an event that will attract thousands of tourists to the Miss-Lou, who will spend money in our restaurants, stay in our charming bed and breakfasts and hotels and generate revenue for all of the Natchez economy.
