VIDALIA — Tickets for the Mickey Gilley concert at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center are selling fast, and anyone wanting to attend needs to act quickly to get their ticket.
Delta Music Museum Director Judith Bingham said the museum has been getting calls every day about the tickets.
“We have had people call about tickets from places as far away as Baltimore,” she said.
The convention center will hold 800 people for each concert, and Bingham said they have approximately 200 tickets left.
“We are going to be taking calls today,” she said. “If there are any tickets left, you can get them at the door also.”
Bingham said there will be two concerts Gilley will perform Sunday, one at 2 p.m. and one at 6 p.m.
“Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. show and 4:30 for the 6 p.m. show,” she said.
Bingham said Gilley will have an opening act starting 30 minutes before he goes on stage.
“Kacy Bays will be performing,” she said. “She used to be a back up singer for Mickey, and she came back to travel with him.”
Gilley performed last year at the Arcade Theatre in Ferriday, and Bingham said he wanted to perform at a larger place this year.
“Last year we completely sold out and many people were turned away,” she said. “Mickey said he wanted to do it at the conference center this year so more people could come out.”
Bingham said that Gilley will be performing the same show he puts on in Branson.
“He is a great entertainer and always puts on an amazing show,” she said. “You would normally have to drive eight hours to see it. If you come out on Sunday it will be right here.”
If you would like to purchase tickets to the concert, go by the Delta Music Museum at 218 Louisiana Ave., in Ferriday or contact the museum at 318-757-9999.
