Mulhearn named LSU distinguished alumni

BATON ROUGE — Natchez native J. Patrick Mulhearn has been named to the Louisiana State University Alumni Hall of Distinction by  the LSU Alumni Association.

The Hall of Distinction recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves and LSU through their careers, personal and civic accomplishments, volunteer activities and loyalty to their alma mater.

Mulhearn, the executive director of Celtic Studios in Baton Rouge, earned two degrees from LSU, a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1997 and a master’s degree in liberal arts in 2000.

Mulhearn started out in film studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder before transferring to LSU in 1994.

He was founder and is the past president of the Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association.

Inductees included Newtron Group founder, owner and cheif executive Newton Thomas; track Olympian Lori S. “Lolo” Jones; and  Herbert H. Vincent, Jr., Southeastern Conference associate commissioner of communications, Birmingham, Ala., among others.
