Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Etherige Oaks IV of Calhoun, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Oaks to Landon White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lynn White of Monterey.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of West Ouachita High School in West Monroe, La., and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a bachelor of arts in mass communication and broadcast journalism.

She is currently employed as the co-host of This Week in Louisiana Agriculture in Baton Rouge.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Taylor Aswell and the late Rev. Clyde Werner Aswell of Calhoun, La., and Mr. Emerson Etherige Oaks III and the late Mrs. Dorothy Sims Oaks of Calhoun.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Monterey High School and also a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business.

He is self-employed on his family’s grain farming operation in Monterey.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wayne Tiffee and the late Mr. and Mrs. David White, all of Monterey.

The wedding will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Dunleith Historic Inn and Plantation in Natchez.
