NATCHEZ — Services for Annie DiStefano Cook, 89, of West Monroe, La., and formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Natchez, the daughter of Dominic and Josephine Maresca DiStefano.
She was a devoted member of St. Mary Basilica and was an avid golfer.
Mrs. Cook was a volunteer at Lakeshore School in Monroe for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, George F. Cook; four sisters, Josephine Duffey and husband, Vernon, Louise McLean and husband, Robert L., Lucia Chatelain and husband, Edward and Marie King and husband, Cleo; two brothers, D.D. DiStefano and wife, Claudia, and Joe DiStefano; and one nephew, Stephen Smith.
Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Smith and husband, Clint; one sister-in-law, Freda DiStefano; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Mardis, Mac Mardis, Mike Mardis, Roger McCranie, Alan Gressett, Kenneth O’Cain and Joe DiStefano.
Honorary pallbearer will be Derek Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Mary Basilica or St. Mary Basilica Family Life Center.
